So how's life treating all of you?

My life's kinna bad, but nearly as much as certain people's. I'm in my final year of high school, and am applying (with much confidence) to UC: San Diego and University of San Diego. I plan on moving there in may.

But, the combination of abusive (while I don't live with them anymore, I still have to talk to them on occasion) "parents", my girlfriend living in DC (until December), and just general anticipation of wanting to go as soon as possible has left me a sad, frusturated Dave.

If anyone invents a fast-forward button, let me know. :D

My life is good, thanks.

My husband and I are planning a trip to England in a few months.

My D&D game is going well, and even the player who moved thinks he can commute back to the game if we play on Sundays, which we have been anyway. Imagine him driving 2 hours each way just to play in my game! It's a real compliment. And on labor day we're all having an extra long session combined with a picnic.

My dog dug another hole in the back yard, looking for China apparently, but did not find it. But it's ok. We'll just fill it in and plant some grass on it this weekend. Other than that, she's a good dog. She's 38 pounds of snuggle puppy.

I hired a new assistant manager at work, who didn't seem to be working out at first, but as of this week seems to have turned the corner. This development decreases my stress level by several orders of magnitude.

My life isn't filled with excitement, as you can see, but it's stable, and generally drama-free. To me, that's ideal.

Fair to middlin'...

Could be a lot worse off, but then again I could stand to be a lot better off too.

Atleast I'm not in the Gulf like Scarhead... Made two jaunts over there myself a few years back, and though I was on a ship (in the Navy) it still pretty much sucks all around.

By the way, Congrats on picking up Sgt. Scarhead!

Since you asked...

Mystic Eye is doing fine and we are getting stuff ready for the next few months.
It appears we will not be going to GenCon SoCal so that is a bummer but no complaints.

I have a new women in my life I am smitten with.
My son is going potty on the toilet.
My daughter is paying my bills and balancing my checkbook and she is almost 4 (slight joke but she is smart).

So doing fine here in Fl!

Hope it takes a better turn for you ArtQ!

Doing good. Wife and I just got back from vacation. Both still have jobs :) Son is only got 2 more semesters in college, then home will be ours again :D Broke ground on our new house yesterday, the trees are coming down nicely.

And got home this am to find the parking lot full of police cars, a swat team, and an ambulance. Someone has barricaded himself in the apartments across the parking lot. Sitting have a cold one and watching out the window right now, beats TV. Haven't seen this many police cars since prom night.

Hey Eye Tyrant,
You don't know if Scarhead has any connections do you? I've been trying to go play in the big sandbox for a couple of years now. I guess the Air Force just doesn't have much need for a computer programmer over there.

Life is a bit stressful right now, but it promesis to get better. The beurecratic red tape of the Air Force is telling me that if I want to stay in Europe then I will have to loose over $11k on my next reenlisment bonus. I want to stay, but I don't know if the money is worth it. Oh, and I have to decide by next week. Once I'm through this it should be smooth sailing for a while.

Other than that, theres just the tipical day to day ups and downs.

In the immortal words of Norm Peterson, when asked "how is life treating you?" - his response was, "like a baby treats its diapers..."

Sorry, I've been waiting for that one for a few years now.

But, in reality, my life is going well, thanks. I have a new 6 month old daughter named Grace. Right when she was born, I also got a new job that was a $10K per year raise and also saved me 90 minutes a day in commuting time and has, so far, required much less overtime than my previous job. My wife gets prettier every day. I may even have time to get back into gaming full time after two years of very sporadic gaming due to my previous job.

Very busy, but fairly nice overall.

Not only that, the missing half of my gaming group comes back in town tomorrow -- we're looking forward to starting up some regular campaigning again in the next few weeks.

Good.

Work sucks, but then doesn't it always? It pays very well, so I can't really complain. My manager is incompetent, so as long as I never see her, life is good.

Our daughter is doing well, she's smiling and cooing at us now. My wife started back to work from maternity leave this past Monday, so that transition has gone fairly good. Our neighbor has licensed herself as a daycare, and she's watching our kid. So, I literally just walk 20 feet to drop her off every morning. Plus, it's half as expensive as regular daycare. So, we're lucky there.

I've been working on my campaign, which I'll start running this fall. I've had tons of time to prepare, so my players are going to be overwhelmed with details. I just got Malhavoc's Requiem for the Gods (pdf) and am quite taken aback by the really cool ideas in it that I can use. So, I'm integrating some of that stuff into my plot.

Really, if my job were more rewarding, or some of the people I've sent resumes too actually responded, it would be perfect.

Except the car handle on my door broke yesterday at lunch. So, while I can get *out* of my car, I can't get in it. I have to go in through the passenger door and open it now. Really annoying. I'll have to fix that right away lest it drive me insane.

Currently, thinking about which book I want to write next, since I'm between books right now.

And I'm listening to Arnold Schoenberg on my CD player. Life could be lots worse for me right now. :)
