Whatever it is, I think such value judgements should be prefaced with an "In my opinion...", "I believe that..." or something along those lines. Just letting you know before we start having a penis length contest. It helps take the edge off of these kind of comments. I sure would have tried disagreeing with you about such stuff if we were posting elsewhere... and since politics are not allowed, that would get this nice thread closed fast.

My life is...eh.

I'm 17, so it isn't supposed to be wonderful, but that isn't the point. I'm just waiting for my Senior year in High School to end...then, I move to Wales with my GF and have a good life for once.

On the more recent things though, my mother has had a rare liver condition(don't know what...but its basically not working at all) that she shouldn't get at her age(only 43). She's been getting better, then getting worse, etc etc for the past 3 years now...but I can just watch it tearing her to pieces. No one else sees it...but my gut feeling is that she's not going to make it another year...annoyingly enough, my gut is never wrong.

Perhaps you should put off that move to Wales until your mother's condition improves. I really don't think you want to be half way across the world should something happen. Also, your life isn't automatically going to improve by moving to Wales....the U.S. has the greatest opportunities in the world.

I've actually thought long and hard about that one...but, I'm not changing my plans. My mother even told me not to. Her condition isn't going to improve. Maybe it is a form of running away...but oh well. No matter how bad all of this is, I'm making this year the best I can.

My GF I've known for seven years now. We've met face to face a few times, and talk on the phone/net for hours everyday. I've waited a long time...and I truthfully don't think I can mentally take it being so far away much longer. Maybe my reasons seem irrational and I'm just sounding like a 'typical teenager'...but that isn't it. I know my life won't get better just because I move to a different location. But, this is the path I've chosen for myself. MY mother is completely behind me. I'm not turning back. I can't. I'm almost to tears at the thought of not making it next year. Its probably the first time, in all of my life, that I've truly needed to do something. The hardest part is, that it seems to go against everything else...but I've made the right choice for me...even if everyone else doesn't see it.

Some of your countrymen left a bad taste in my mouth in regard to US nationalism, and my experience is that as soon as someone proclaims one country to be the best, the discussion soon escalates into a penis size contest. I could explain why it really is safer to preface it to make clear it is opinion, but it has something to do with the internet being a purely written form of communication and so on. I am not being hypersensitive, I am just propagating tact.
