You might look into a nice starter system like this one. Now, that $7500 price tag may seem low, but remember that's just the base configuration (which you wouldn't want to be caught dead with). For a mere $7000 more, I'd go with the full 4-way MIPS config.

Whatever you get, make sure you have/do the follwing as soon as you can. Just because you buy it brand new from a name brand doesn't mean it's completely setup, far from it actually.

1. Run all the Windows updates. I've found new systems are notorious for no being up to date. They are also filled with a lot of useless crap too like AOL trials and annoying software. Uninstall immediately. Stay away from AOL altogether. Use Trillian.

2. Make sure you have an up-to-date virus scan. Usually the ones that come with the comp are trial only.

3. Get a firewall, software or hardware. I recommend a Linksys. If not, get Zone Alarm.

I wouldn't even think about geting online without doing those things. Otherwise your comp is quickly going to become a haven for spyware, trojans, and viruses. The internet is a nasty, and getting worse.
