So Many PDFs...So Little Time.

I have a bunch of RPG pdf files/products. I sure wish I had the time to read them all, but that's way too much time I'd have to spend in front of my computer. I have a laptop, and I lug it around sometimes, but even that is a pain. So, you fellow RPG Pdf collectors, how do you get it all read? Of all the pdf files you've bought, how many have you actually read in their entirety? I need to be able to read my files while standing in line at the movie theater, sittin' on a part bench etc.. Maybe I should buy a handheld (which one?). Is it just me, or is it just a lot more convenient to read a hardcopy book? They have electronic handheld bookreaders, right? Does anyone have or use these things?

I find reading a book or printout much more convenient than on screen, and better for my eyes. But I find copying and pasting from pdfs very useful for my games. Stat blocks and flavor text directly for use. Search is not a bad function either.

Yeah, that's the rub. I could get a lot of PDF review copies if I wanted, but honestly, I had to weasel out of reviewing some of them I actually got, because I just don't ever read pdfs.

I find myself reading shorter PDFs (like those that feature a single class or are no more than 10 pages) on screen but printing out (usually with a b/w laser printer) the larger ones. I find myself referencing larger PDFs on screen a lot when writing an adventure or creating an NPC.

I have a lot of PDFs, and almost buy them exclusively now. If I had hard copies of all my PDFs, I'd have to buy at least four more bookshelves. True20 is my "grand experiment" where I am buying everything True20 as PDF, but I did break down and buy the Pocket Player's Guide in hardcopy simply for convenience.

I did something similar with True20. I bought the main book, then everything else as a PDF. I wonder if there is a good way to combine several smaller PDFs into a single large book, and then just get them printed at Lulu or something.

I think Lulu doesn't allow you to do that unless you are the publisher and own the copyright. www.printfu.com might be an alternative, but you can't get books that look as professionally printed as with Lulu.

A haven't read a lot of the PDF's that I have purchased. I might have read little bits and pieces of some, others I haven't read any. Then again I have hard copy RPG books that I haven't read either.

I have found reading hard copy printouts of PDF's preferable to reading them off of my screen. The ability to copy/paste statblocks and other useful bits as well as the search function still makes PDF's very useful to me though.

I have also bought a lot of adventures in PDF form, printed them out and had them bound. In most cases this was either because I could no longer find the hard copy version of them or they were a lot cheaper to buy this way. The additional usability that having them in PDF form gave me was also a plus.
