D&D 5E so, mountain dwarf wizards...

respectfully, the Original post was just about dwarf wizards being awesome. And i feel like everyone has gotten off on their tangent.
...snip...

cmon people instead of wasting so much time saying why you dont like it talk about ways to support it. add to the discussion, dont detract from it

Respectfully, no one has contributed to this thread for five years so whats the point in coming in and trying to police them for it five years later?

I had quite the opposite,

I loved my longbow as a wizard.

1d8+3 is better than 1d10 for levels 1-4. And there is no spellcasting involved(better stealth, some RP implications).

And if you get +1 weapon or being a bladesinger it is better from level 5+

He's a longbow wizard
There has to be a twist
A longbow wizard's got such a supple wrist (with cantrips...)

Yeah, given that post was made over 5 years ago when I probably had played exactly 1 (one) 5e wizard up to that point, let's just say that since that time I've had your experience as well. Like any PC, depends on where you dump your stats and what you want to emphasize.

Thread necromancer?
Hmmm ... not as a PC but that does give me an idea for an NPC. Raises skeletons/zombies and then bolts of thread whirl out and enhance them. Raggedy looking undead with loose threads everywhere that reach out and entangle. Maybe threads that try to penetrate ... orifices ... or sew eyes and mouths shut.

My players will hate that. Wonder if I can figure out how to fit it into my next game? :devilish:

I could also see a wizard subclass that uses weaver’s tools as a spellcasting focus for their necromancy spells.

I went Cleric 1/Wizard X and essentially received the same benefit. People freak "But you're missing out on spells!!!!!" to which I reply "meh". You don't miss out of spell SLOTS, and upcasting can be about as good as those higher level spells if you choose the right spell. And you get some juicy Cleric cantrips and first level spells, and a Cleric 1 special ability (I went with Arcana - even more cantrips!).

Cleric1/divine soul XYZ is sexy.

Dwarf wizard or sorcerer with rolled stats is great.
