I did them when it wasn't cool... they have always been my favorite flavor of specialty wizard (Mmmmm Zombie Flavor Ice Cream...).

PrC's

there are several PrC's for necromancers (also my favorite school)
as well as numerous feats. I think the one you might have had in mind is "Litch Loved" but there are many others as well.

Think you might want to clarify the word "do" my assistant. ;)

As for myself, perhaps some day I'll run a Hollowfaustian necromancer. For now though I'm just doing the Dm/Gm thing. :)

I've had necromancers forever. Hollowfaust is just another take on them, a VERY white wolf - feeling take on them, mind you. (This isn't a dis, I am a fan of White Wolf games, I just felt tha this product REALLY felt white-wolfish for a D20 product, more so than any other S&SS product out there).

Heck, the major formative event for the modern era of my campaign world's northlands was the conquest of the north and subsequent destruction of the empire of a powerful necromancer named Gar'Udok.

Love the guy so much, I even wrote a full fledged supplement about him!

tell the truth how many of you guys have gone out and done Necromancers?

Hallowfaust is out now?

Man, I gotta get to my LGS!:p

- haven't used it yet, but it's a great read. My Campaign hasn't gotten west of Vesh yet...

What do you mean "now that Hollowfaust is out"? It came out a long time ago. It was the second city/regional sourcebook for the scarred lands around the same time as mithril. Has there been a second edition already?

Let's see there is Hollowfaust, Gar'Udock, Green Ronin's Necromancer Handbook, and Mongoose's Acane Encyclopedia Necromancy, as well as a ton of necromancy spells and prestige classes in general magic sourcebooks like relics and rituals and tome and blood. So there is a bunch of support material for the bad guy specialty.

I still haven't specialized, although my good wizard who travels with a paladin does have a number of necromancy spells and doesn't want to stop learning spells from the school.

Well, have to agree with Voadam that this sourcebook has been out for a while. In fact, I bought mine almost exactly a year ago!

That being said, I love this sourcebook, and when I started my Scarred Lands campaign last year, I based it out of Hollowfaust!

The player group, it should be noted, has no arcane spellcasters, and includes a cleric of Madriel!

So far, so good, though I think I may need to steer them towards the Mourning Marshes soon. My rat men hunger!
