Has anybody seen the cartoon Metalocalypse? It's a bit of gory weirdness on cartoon network late at night. It's not particularly D&Dish, except that the average citizen of this world appears to be made out of tissue paper. People die at fashion shows. Spilled hot coffee burns off faces. A box full of cranky house cats destroyed the entire human population of a small island.
And I though... You know... That's what it must look like in your average D&D world. The average human peasant, in any edition of D&D, has 2 hp. Anything stands a good chance of killing them in seconds. Old lady spilling hot coffee on lap at McDonalds? Dead. Skaterboy racks nuts on a bannister? Dead. Ice Skater slams into the wall? Dead. But I never really has a good mental image of what that must be like before Metalocalpyse.
