So What Are Your Favorite D&D Prepaints?

Figured I'd show the line some love. Some people assume that because I generally post more about the problems I have with the minis that I have no love for them. Tis not true! I have a massive collective of the bastiches. And this is just the love.

Going backwards...

Demonweb: Thoon Hulk.

Against the Giants: Probably one of my favorite sets in a while. Angel of Retribution, Death Titan, Earth Titan, Efereeti Salmanader, Elder White Dragon, Elder Red Dragon,

Dungeons of Dread: Eye of Flame, Oni, Shade Night, Shadow Demon (I like the clear plastic for these types of figures)

Desert of Desolation: Bruenor Battlehammer (there are a couple of dwarves I actually like in the series!), Osyulth, Ogre Brute, Naga, Red Drake, Sahaugin Baron,

Night Below: Dread Wraith (I could've used a few of these when running Shackled City), Brass Golem, Halfling Tombseeker (the mask does it for me.), Shadow (could use a few more of those actually!), Large Shadow Dragon (I had it but forgot it during the crucial battle of Sellswords of Punjar!), Skeletal Courser (useful for an actual adventure!), Assassin (it was nice to see one of the non-iconic iconics get a mini and I've always got a use for dark clad figures as I prefer a lot of human/humanoid enemies.)

Unhallowed: Beholder Lich, Bone Naga, Large Ice Elemental, Pentifex Monolith (I don't know if it was the initial art or that I had a character this fit perfectly but...), High Inquisitor (another figure I like for mobs), Vampire Hunter (one of the better uncommons),

Blood War: Half Orc Spy (remember that thing about thieves and assassin?), Solar, Shadowdancer, Horned Devil, Large Water Elemental (that clear plastic again...), The Lich Queen

I'll post some more latter after I look through my old boxes that I've got stored around here.

Does anyone have a single favorite? Anyone have groups of particular ones they like? A single favorite set?

The Sahuagin Ranger is my favorite non-rare of all time. It has great detail, the paint is excellent, everything about it is pretty much perfect.

Love my hill giant barbarians. Found a site selling a bunch for £1.99 each. I bought 6, now I have a small army suitable for Steading of the Hill Giant Chief. :)

Yeah, getting giants are a price and painted up is one of the good points of the prepainted minis.

Lots of great minis listed so far. One that I really like is the enormous Carrion Crawler from the Against the Giants series. It works as a D&D monster and also as a freaky alien for other games.

Without the figures and set lists before me-

All time favorite-
Behir

Runners up-
Emerald Wizard
Sahguin Ranger
Battlerager Dwarf
Large Blue Dragon
Huge White Dragon

Best depictions of a race with multiple figures-
Orc Mauler (THAT folks is an Orc)
Warforged Fighter

I thoutghly enjoyed the series and understand the changes being made but suspect this is where I quit buying the figures.

sad day.

Human Wanderer - Still maybe my favorite of the PC figures for ones I run.

Worg - I just love this sculpt.

Halfling Veteran - Kick-butt nasty halfling.

Sword of Heironeous - My first rare

Eye of Gruumsh - Cool as all heck!

Gold Champion - The first "Hit me if you can" skirmish figure.

Purple Dragon Knight - Fear cone was hawt and I loved to build around him.

Large Red Dragon - Still the best red dragon sculpt of the series.

Paladin of Torm - Great sculpt, could have been a contender with real HP and AC. Still my biggest stat complaint of any of the line.

Orc Champion - I HATED seeing these things almost evey match for a couple of years buit it's a tremendous sculpt.

Aspect of Demogorgon - Orcus is his beyotch.

Deepshadow Elf - Just a cool, fairly versatile sculpt.

Lord Soth - Retro awesome!

King Snurre - Large retro awesome.

Frost Giant - Nordic butt-kicking goodness.

Behir - Versatile and cool. Remorhaz and Frsot Worm stand-in.

Alusair Obarskyr - Rockin' PC sculpt!

Frenzied Berserker - Another fun PC sculpt.

Ulmo Lightbringer - He will KYPAD!!

Troll Slasher - The quintessential troll. I think I have 15.

Mounted Paladin/Valenar Nomad Charger/Thundertusk Cavalry/Orc Banebreak Rider/etc. - Loved the mounted minis.

Sword Archon/Trumpet Archon/Hound Archon(!) - LOVED the angelic archons! Hound Archon was a great target piece in 500-point skirmish.

Large Blue Dragon - This is just cool.

Sahuagin Ranger - Just a great figure.

Dread Wraith - Maybe my favorite of the "un-named" undead.

Efreeti Flamestrider - Retro awesome.

Elder White Dragon - The best of the huge/icon dragon sculpts. Even better than the Aspect of Tiamat.

I'm getting carried away, I'll stop there.
