So what do you want to Run?

going to run a PoL game set just after a huge holy war/gods war. The first villain will be a death knight memeber of a cabal trying to bring back their god from the far reaches of the far realm(if not available then I will use the feywild)

I want to run the kind of games I've always run; fast combats, feats of derring-do & whatnot, and heavy on the talking in character. Hopefully 4.0's rules will facilitate the kinds of games I like to run instead of hindering them.

A setting I created for 3.5, but never used, that so far works 100% with the 4E default flavor.

Playing a "Temple of Elemental Evil" adventure that uses the new planar flavor as background.

I've got two ideas.

One is a standard fantasy with an intense fear of magic because the gods are callous and petty like those often found in Grecian myth.

And Heroic level they compete with other heroic humans (think many of the heroes of the Torjan War)

After that they become Paragons and begin to see longer quests and weird monsters, plus some additional major heroes (think people as inventive and strong as Odysseus, Hektor, and Aeneus)

Once they hit Epic the quests become truly amazing like the toils of Heracles ultimately allowing them to become hero gods themselves.

The second is something more Birthright like.

The players start as adventurers helping a lord establish a beacon of light.

At Paragon level they become minor lordlings capable of doing the tasks you can't send an army after.

Upon reaching Epic they are forging a kingdom for themselves and eradicating all evil that opposes them.
