So, what gaming gifts are you giving (or asking for)?

I am giving Star Wars miniatures and Lego Star Wars to my son. I am giving Pokemon TCG to my godson and picked up a Anniversary edition Axis and Allies for myself.

I also donated board games and D&D RPG starters to the Toys for Tots bin at my daughters' school.

I wish I had more game players in my non-work life because there is some really great stuff for gifts out there.

P.S. the person coordinating the Toys for Tots bin was really excited to see the RPG starters because they don't get a lot of gifts for older kids. Mostly they get stuff for younger preschool and elementary age children

Draconomicon maybe. Martial Powers? idk, I think the other players in the group would complain that their classes don't get a book like that

How is Twilight 2013? (I never played the original.)

I have only thoroughly read the setting premise, which is 70 pages. I will be reading the mechanics ASAP.

As for the setting write up I find it very possible. There are a few things I think they actually under estimated the potential destruction of, namely nuclear fall out and the lethality of disease in conjunction with the total break down of a health care system, worldwide.

As for the nuclear war portion, I think the premise is a bit weak, but easy enough to strengthen the reasons for using nukes (at least I hope it would take more than the reasons given in this write up for nations to use nukes) if the hows and why's ever become important in the game.

The summed up "feel" of this new history is for it to be a new world where people of great will and fortitude will rebuild nations and the world, much like 250 years ago when the world was being explored and settled. Just this time it will be exploring apocolyptic remains of fallen nations and rebuilding from what can be salvaged and rebuilt.

I'll be reading through the mechanics for the next few days.

Hey, Lego's aren't from Hasbro. Boy are you in trouble.;) (of course if everything you listed had been from Hasbro, I, or someone else, would probably just accuse you of shilling for Hasbro, so I guess you just can't win.:p;))

That is a truly awesome idea. Probably too late for me this year, and I really don't have the money for it this year, but next year I may have to do that also. Thanks for the idea.

also gave one of my buddies some bile thralls painted up for his Cyrx army and another 10 skeleis, a necromancer and a vampire (from Warlord from Reaper) for his Warhammer Vampire Counts army. Another one got Forgotten Heroes, another one got the Order of the Stick Board Game. Haven't seen what they've done for me yet as I wanted to be sure to get everyone's X-Mas presents out early.
