What's your guess for Season of Champions, running from October 2026 through December?

As reported today, WotC has announced three 'seasons' for 2026's Dungeons & Dragons releases. These are the seasons of Horror, Magic, and Champions, respectively.

Summer's Season of Horror is focused on a Ravenloft sourcebook and accessories. Autumn's Season of Magic is a sourcebook called Arcana Unleashed, and an accompanying adventure.

And in Winter 2026 there is a mysterious "Season of Champions"--but we don't yet know what that is.

The two most popular guesses are the long-predicted Dark Sun content, or a martial-themed sourcebook to follow Arcana Unleashed.

I figured Lord Soth was there because of his brief stint as a Dark Lord, meaning he will have a section in the Ravenloft book. But he is also positioned at the intersection of MORE TO COME and TO BE ANNOUNCED which is very unfair to my predictive ability.

He is also cropped from a larger artwork, but a spooky hand still haunts his right shoulder.

I suspect that is Strahd's hand on his shoulder, ala Where Black Roses Bloom.

As for "season of Champions", we did get a pugilist class, so my bet is on a book for the "martials" akin to the spellcaster's book of Arcana Unleashed. It just doesn't feel like the right title to associate with Dark Sun (despite Gladiator being a big thing in it).

If the rumor that it is just one book is correct, I’d expect the martial equivalent to the fall’s caster expansion and no Dark Sun book. If the also release a second book like Thay now, there still is the option for a Dark Sun winter

And Weiss specifically said we would hear more about what was discussed in August...

It is a decent speculative possibility, though I think the UA evidence suggests Dark Sun is brewing.
wasn’t that about last year’s meeting that Joe Mangianello also was at? That would suggest news about the TV show more than about D&D books, but with WotC dropping the tie-in ball pretty much every time in the past, maybe they are attempting to hold on to it this time… would be too soon for a tie-in release though

Fairly obviously, a “Season of Champions” means they’ll be doing the long awaited crossover with League of Legends. :)
You jest, but that would be an amazing collab that would benefit both sides... especially since the Arcane animated series had a HUGE splash just a few years ago... LoL/Riot is still riding high after that
