• NOW LIVE! Into the Woods--new character species, eerie monsters, and haunting villains to populate the woodlands of your D&D games.

So what is your favorite module, ever?

D&D
B2: The Keep on the Borderlands
Red Hand of Doom is quite good, so is Ravenloft and the Dragonlance adventure that was a wargame.

Non-D&D
The Court of Ardor (MERP; ICE)

Supplements: Arduin Grimoire

X10 -Red Arrow Black Shield

I loved this adventure. When a vast army invades the PCs have to go to the different nations and plead for aid for the invaded nation. This one's got it all. Mass combat, quests, diplomacy, and a boss fight with a god-like cleric. Too bad I only play with one group or else I would run this one again and again.

X4 and X5 are adventures to build up to this one.

Very tough choice.

For non-D&D stuff:
Masks of Nyarlathotep (CoC)
From the Deeps of Space (V&V)
Death Duel with the Destroyers (V&V)

For D&D, I'd have to say I can't choose between:

I6-Ravenloft
Scourge of the Slavelords supermodule
GDQ supermodule

Old School: Desert of Desolation

New School: The Crucible of Freya (Necromancer Games)
New School that actually feels like Old School: Into the Wilds (Goodman Games)

The Descent Into the Depths / Against the Giants / Demon Queen series is the best arc, IMO, the first ever 'epic campaign.'

Keep on the Borderlands has a special place in my heart, as does Barrier Peaks.

But the overall best I think I'd have to give to the Slave Lords series, and that's because the Slave Lords themselves were so darn memorable. I think strong and memorable characters, like Strahd or Lord Soth, can make an otherwise mediocre adventure shine.

X2 Castle Amber - Somewhat sketchy, at least the bits in Averiogne (sp?), but very cool module.

The Sky Raiders Trilogy from FASA for Traveller

"Bad Moon Rising" for Call of Cthulhu - about a '20s expedition to the Moon using a dimensional gate

Keep on the Borderlands has a special place in my heart. I will have to say that Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh is my favorite however. Bloodstone Pass has great memories for me too.

Very difficult to just single out one. Hmmm, a second vote for White Plume.

I just ran White Plume about a month ago...and as the other poster said, its a blast each time. Its got a great mix of monster types, traps, and puzzling things, and magic. And also the wacky chaotic theme (magic stolen recover it)...it screams 1E. To me its the perfect dungeon in that it captures the feel of the game so well (as I picture it).

My all time favorite as a player that lost nearly a dozen PCs to this module and loved every minute of it is Greyhawk Ruins by Blake Mobley and Timothy B. Brown.

My favorite to run as a DM was I6: Ravenloft for its gothic feel, awesome atmosphere, and innovative maps. I've run that mod several times and recently returned to it in my v.3.5 game after updating it (before the Expedition... mod was in the works) and it hasn't lost a bit of its charm.
