So what the heck IS a Shadowfell, anyway?

I'll be the third... Red Hand of Doom is very, very good.

Fourth. One of the reasons I'm sad about 4e coming now is that I was hoping for a couple of years worth of more adventures of this quality. Now their efforts will be focused on developing the core of their new game.

I'm just happy they learned to type the word Demon again, hopefully it's not a typo.

Enough of this Baatezu/Tanarri (sp? see what I mean) garbage! Give me fiends from the pit (and maybe some Cthulu type stuff as well).

He's got a deity-style write-up in Ghostwalk, doesn't he?

Not just a "deity-style writeup," Orcus was actually promoted to full godhood as a lesser deity. His priests actually managed to pull off the undead-horde schtick and found an undead nation (Xaphan). A neat setting really, I'd like to have seen something else happen with Ghostwalk. Oh well.

As far as a generic-save-the-world adventure, I think it's the right approach for a new rules set. The very first adventure shouldn't be too weird or too complex. I'd rather have a simple fantasy story while I'm learning a new set of rules than trying to balance a complex multi-level plot with "learning the user interface." Fine. The first adventure won't be Temple of Elemental Evil or From the Shadows or Red Hand of Doom. As long as all the adventures aren't simple dungeon crawls, it'll be fine.

Well, since they've been using demons and devils again since the beginning of 3e, I think they've known how to type it for a while now...

A fell is an elevated pasture. Think something in the scottish highlands.

Shadow is just an adjective.

This is almost definitely a continuation of the long D&D tradition of creating place names by taking a sinister adjective and an obscure synonym for a common object, and mooshing them together.

Which is fine. Sounds good enough to me. I'd even buy the module if it weren't in quick start rules.
