Regarding the front page news, "Scott Rouse has confirmed that the 4E Player's Handbook, Monster Manual & Dungeon Master's Guide will be released June 2008.":

I guess that gives WotC about eight months to get the next Complete book on the book store shelves before we move on to the new edition. That's doable. Yay.

I know you're joking but the Bard desperately needs to get divvied up into multiple archetypes.

If that means different classes, this is me gnashing my teeth.

The bard, if anything, needs to be more flexible so you don't need multiple classes and isn't such a (sorry) one-note. ;)

I think Path of Magic was on the right path here (again, no pun intended.)

The problem is that it is such a horrible mish-mash of archetypes: the spellsinger, the skald, the jack-of-trades, the galant. Any or all of these could be classes, or subsumed by other classes.

Complete Nonesense should arrive by January. It features many classes that "cross boundaries" like arcane casters who can only do psionics, Clerics who can't heal but can toss fireballs all day, Barbarians who are mild and even tempered, Monks who wear armor and use pole arms, Fighter librarians!, Bards who kill enemies by making them gouge their own eyes out while singing (allies and party members also), Allergic Druids, and the famous Vampiric Lycanthrope Doppleganger Paladin Ghost.
