D&D 5E So what's the scoop on D&D in PDF Format?

So more and more, I'm wishing I could print pages from adventures to mark them up or read the books in a pdf reader. I know there' been talk about the books being made available in PDF format on D&D Beyond - has there been any news on that front? Are we talking some kind of subscription service to have the ability? I was recently looking at a BOOX, and really wishing I could pull up the books in that.

I'm guessing the large concern is piracy and sharing, so I'm wondering if they'd require some sort of login and a dedicated reader of some kind. For the record, I'd be fine using a dedicated app and login.

Thankfully, without legitimate PDFs of WotC 5E D&D books, there is no way for the books to proliferate online. Thank you, WotC, for stopping piracy dead in its tracks. You cracked the code. Huzzah!

WotC has no plans to sell their current material in PDF. You can get almost everything from older editions in PDF or even print-on-demand from the DMsGuild.

Now, I do wonder if they will move the 2014 core books to the Guild/PDF when the 2024 books come out. I doubt it, but I still wonder.

What does the "digital bundle" entail?
According to what's on the WotC webstore (which is where you actually make the purchase) it includes a copy of the physical book as well as a "D&D Beyond digital copy" as well. Which I'm guessing means access to it on DDB, but no PDF.

EDIT: Ninja'd by Reynard!
