I personally like the fact that there are 6 different buff spells. All the buffs in one spell would be too flexible at that level, IMO, and spreading the love in this instance is a good thing. The emotion change doesn't make much difference to me one way or the other and rock to mud/mud to rock? Well, that one I agree should be make into a single spell.

Ranger... it's by far the most improved.

Looks like all the classes got better. More and more I like the revision; seeing how it all fits together is making it more and more interesting.

Anyone put together the list of revised ranger spells?

I voted Paladin because it's my favorite change not because I think it's the best. I hated how that class stopped getting anything after 5th level. Sure the ranger was the same way but I had less of a problem with it.

I do love what they have done with the 3 nature classes: barbarian, druid & ranger. The tweaks will all make their way into my current campaign, but there are more Paladins (heavy religious bent) so that obviously affects my vote. :)

I voted Sorcerer. With the ability to swap some spells out now, I see a lot more people taking this class in the future. It was already one of my personal faves, and I think they only made it better. I'm not too unstrung about UMD; if I need it, it'll be cross-class now, which is better than nothing.

As for the 3.5 Ranger, I give it a big thumbs sideways. It looks like they solved a couple of problems re: frontloading, and the good Ref save is a good call, but they could have solved the biggest problem by getting rid of the virtual feats. Now, instead of getting one dumb virtual, you have a choice of a couple. Big whoop. Honestly, anyone I know who would play a ranger would have taken those feats anyway, without the no-heavy-armor strings attached.

Bards, because the armor use with spells makes them able to go into combat and thus not just a subpar mage.

Other that that druid is solid, and the paladin better (but still a little too much front loaded). I've got a sinking feeling that the ranger got too much, it almost combines all the good features of a rogue and a fighter, with the only loss the reduced hit dice.

It seems that they have nerfed a few of the non-combat uses of spells (e.g. fly), and if that is true it's definitely a negative in my book. All in all it seams that the mages are a little less interesting in 3.5.

Monk, no contest. Much cleaner rules for unarmed attacks, earlier Ki Strike and a choice of feats at places. Add in the clearer rules about monk weapons and the fact that you can cast magic fang on a creature to affect all its attacks and you can't go wrong with monks anymore.

UMD needs very high scores to work. As a cross-class skill, it is useless.

Not a problem for a Wizard, but doom for a Sorcerer.

We all know what a sorcerer is for, and it ain't buffing :D .

I guess I should have been clearer. I have never ever ever used UMD. Never needed it, can't imagine I ever will. If something magical has to be activated, that's what the party mage/cleric is there for. If the party mage/cleric is dead, it might be time to run away, but it's certainly not the time to go monkeying with his staff. YMMV, of course.
