Fellowship, for me. But then I've seen it four times and TTT only once (going back today  ), so that might have a little to do with it.

The Two Towers. I'm a sucker when it comes to large-scale medieval battles.

Of course that doesn't mean the Fellowship is bad. It was a very good introduction that set up and split apart the Fellowship. But I also think that for a sequel to be good, it has to top the previous movie.

Let's hope the conclusive yet climactic The Return of the King can do it one better than TTT next year.

P.S. When are they going to release TTT DVD?

I loved both immensely, but I think I ended up leaving the theater after The Two Towers with a slightly bigger grin on my face. :D

...and I can't wait for the extended Two Towers DVD!

Oh, no! Another 2-disc movie! I have got to invest in a six-disc DVD changer.

Rumor has it that the third film may run as long as 3 and a half-hour in theater, or as Peter Jackson would say, "as long it will take to wrap up the last act of the trilogy."

Definitely the Two Towers. I left the Fellowship film thinking 'that was a GREAT film!'. I left TTT speechless. That was undoubtedly the BEST movie I've ever seen! Mainly because I too am a sucker for medievil battles. And what a battle it was!:D :D :D

Without a doubt FotR was better. I'm sure as a whole TTT will fit nicely, but on its own it just wasn't particularly good. They should have called it "The Two Asses" because that's how many you need to sit through it.

The battle of Helm's Deep wasn't too bad...once you frickin' got there. I swear, if there was any more of a buildup, we would have been watching it in RotK! This film needed some serious editing..."Oh my God the scenery is great!" Yeah, I saw it the first movie; can we get on with things please?

And Sam's speech at the end...snore! I saw the movie twice because I thought I'd appreciate it better (as I did with FotR), but it just didn't happen. This speech was even more unbearable the second time. I will not be seeing again on the big screen and have serious doubts as to whether I'll be picking up the imminent dvd release.

I've seen TTT 3 times in 2 weeks...SO GOOD!!!
But there are scenes in Fellowship that are so classic for me already...I just can't pick one over the other!

They both have very different feels, as well, so it's hard for me to decide. In a related topic, I did read, that PJ's favorite is Return of the King. We'll see for ourselves in less than a year... :)
