Re: Froghemoth

You have no idea how much we had to pay Google to make that happen :p

pffft! (rofl) Yeah, now we know why the site needs Community Support! :p

(I've got to get a real job, then I'm hoping to do mine, btw)

I also like that the screen is black: less damage to my retinas!

I came in for the pre-3rd Edition rumors. After ten years, it's become a habit.

Same here. I eventually got around to creating an account after a while of lurking, though I still don't post much. Guess I should hang in the Hive more.

I like the community, and enjoy the resource at my fingertips to get my gaming fix. Plus, I've met some cool people RL through these boards that I probably would never have met otherwise.

The negative of ENWorld is that the moderators have decided to tolerate a certain degree and style of trolling rather than incur the costs of rooting it out.

The quality of troll has gone down notably over the years. Bugaboo posting that he charged his players to DM for them set the high water mark, I think.

Because I am on the road so much and have multiple projects going on at once, the only DnD I can fit in is a PbP game. I followed my friend, Brakkart's, story hour once and eventually got myself a login to make a post. If it wasn't for ENWorld I might not have ever gotten into 3.5e.

I prefer Mentzer DnD, CnC, and ADnD 1e so you would think that I would go to Dragonfoot. But although I love the old grognards at Dragonfoot the website lacks a vibrant PbP community and has a tendency to get political (the moderators here don't truck with that). So I bite the bullet and hang out here for 3.5e games since the community is so strong here and the members friendly. Would I stay here if there was another vibrant community that played some of the other versions of DnD I prefer? I don't know, but as there isn't one that exists than its a silly question to ponder.

The fact that ENWorld has such important figures in the industry visit here regularly also keeps me coming back. Monte Cook, Scott Rouse, and others have all taken time to post here and I respect their accomplishments in all their DnD endeavors past and present. Seeing them in the forums are always a treat. Too bad they don't do PbP.

The forums I visit are the General Forum, Talking the Talk, and Playing the Game. Sometimes I'll branch out to others if I have time but I'm here to play the game.
