I was hoping for a "If they hadn't killed Dragon and Dungeon for it, I'd be perfectly happy" option. But I didn't see that, so I picked commies.

None of the options really fit my feelings at the moment... I guess because I'm not really "angry" about it.. :p

I'm saddened by the wend of support for a game I enjoy just when they started coming out with books I thought were interesting... although they were just basically tests of the new ideas... So I guess I'm doomed to really start enjoying stuff for a system when it's about to end :( DOOOOOMED!!!

I'm also annoyed because most of the stuff in the DI I've wanted for 3.5 for a long while... (especially digital dragon and dungeon... :()

The whole, "spending a ton of money replacing my system" makes no sense to me...

It's not like they're going to release EVERYTHING for 4e all at once... Were you planning to stop buying gaming stuff as og August 2008? If so, feel free to continue with that plan... Otherwise, you'll still be buying stuff at the same rate I'd suspect...

So what's really the difference?

Also, if you're buying 4e it most likely means you like it... So why wouldn't you be happy about buying it??? :p

I'm not scared or angry about 4E. I don't have the funds to buy a lot of new books anyways (for option 1) and the vancian magic change is speculative (option 6).

I'm not angry with 4e.

I'm bored with D&D qua D&D.

So, no, not angry. I have other games to play, games that are, for me, much more fun.

It's sort of like getting angry over McDonald's bringing back the McRibs Sandwich again ... what is there to get upset over? If someone really wants to eat it, they are welcome to.

Me, I'll go for my local taqueria ;)

Ah, those wacky communists. ;)

It bugs me like having a good TV show canceled bugs me - I'll always have reruns, the fall season might have something good in it, and if worse comes to worst, there are other networks. :)

The sheer number of people responding to the worst possible interpretation of the slightest possible amount of information as quickly as possible, favoring the same couple meaningless (in the most literal sense) comparisons every time.

On the upside, it's a really handy filter. Anybody crying "ZOMFG D&D r MMO now!" knows little enough about both D&D and MMOs that I can safely ignore their opinions at my leisure.

Why would people think this way? Did WotC lie to them before?
Lets see ... I'm certain a couple examples will come to mind

Make dramatic and fundamental changes to the game that specifically marginalize long time players. (Support is now only for those players with computers and internet access, if you dont have those, you are just out of luck.)

Really poor customer relations and communication. (handling of the Magazine cancellations)

Deliberately mislead customers by saying something in a way that WotC knows will be taken to mean 1 thing, when you are knowingly doing something completely different.

As an example, the "rededication to providing errata" that WotC promised, lead most players to beleieve that we would be seeing regular updates on the many 3.5 books that desperately need clarification. What WotC finally decided to do was 1 errata for 1 book issued 8 months after making the "rededication" commitment (due in Oct 08) and then they will provide a 2nd errata update for a 2nd book in Q1 08, followed by regularly updated errata for 4E every quarter. For all the 3.5 books with no errata since 2006 .... tough luck.

And those are just a couple of the many examples of poor decisions (at least from my point of view) that WotC has made over the last few months alone. The negative reputation that WotC is creating for themselves when it comes to communicating and handling customers is a valid reason why some players are avoiding 4E.
