So you wanna write an adventure, eh?

Anyone know if WotC has put out any format-specific submission guidelines? Something in the vein of what Paizo used to do with their guidelines. (Here is the site/PDF for reference to what I'm talking about.) I can only find a very generic sort of submission guideline on WotC.com, with no format-specific details, though it does say:

"If your proposal is approved, we’ll contact you with more specific instructions regarding your submission."
(Source).

These are the specifics I'm looking for.

I don't plan on writing any formal adventures, but I do like the format when I make my own adventures, as I like the structure it provides.

EDIT: Before you flame, know this: I have no intention of violating anyone's copyrights, or intellectual properties, or their mothers. If this is copyrighted, end of story. You don't know till you ask.

Are you familiar with the published 4e or Dungeon adventures? They have a pretty standardized format, but when I wrote my Dungeon adventures I was encouraged to look to them for guidance.

Yes, I am. Thank you for pointing that out, as it is as good a starting place as any. However, I wondered if there were a standardized presentation that could serve as a sort of TEMPLATE.

Which ones did you write out of curiosity?

I wrote "Oasis of the Golden Peacock" and "Treed!"

Gloomshroud, there's no template (well at least one wasn't provided to me) since the conversion to 4e, but if you can find a copy of their 3.5e guidelines, it included a word document template of how they originally wanted to see encounters presented. It really hasn't changed much. I looked on the WotC website, but couldn't find it anymore.

Based on the advice of Shroomy (thank you, sir) as well as referencing the old guide I have and the new adventures that I have, I've compiled a bit of a template. It's only a rough draft, and I would like to post it for review. Please tell me what you think of this as a good outline for adventure format.

Please note, I am NOT attempting to plagiarize or violate copyright. If anyone feels that I have in some way done so, I will ammend this immediately. This is a simple organizational attempt on my own behalf to arrange my own adventures that I've created in a meaningful way and share them for the benefit of critique from my peers. (Was that official enough?)

EDIT: As long as I myself am not violating anything by posting this (bracing for flames), anyone may feel welcome to use this template. I just did it for my own edification. Use it, throw it away, whatever. I don't care, if you can use it, I'm flattered.

I'll second this. I've used existing adventures as a basic template for the Dungeon adventures I wrote as well.

Speaking of which - when are we getting treated with a kick-ass adventure from you again?

@OP
From a quick look, the list looks like it covers the official format.
