D&D 5E (2014) Solasta 2 Announced!!!

I expect it to be a blast to actually play. The world map stuff shown today looks like a good step up from Solasta 1's random encounters. Story and writing are going to be what they are, though hopefully a little less utterly cringe than Solasta 1. The demo was a ... small step in the right direction in that regard, but only a small step.

And I'm definitely looking forward to a more true-to-form CRPG implementation of the 2024 rules right out of the box.

(The BG3 modding scene has made some valiant attempts at 2024 implementation, but it still has a way to go. I can at the very least recommend piecemeal installations of the individual mods for 2024 spells, feats, backgrounds, weapon mastery, and individual classes and races. OTOH, I would NOT recommend that All-In-One mod. I had fun with the AIO mod for a while, perhaps due to the sheer novelty of it being my first experience with a 2024 implementation in BG3, but the more I played into it the more silly homebrew changes, awful "rebalancing" of enemies, and some less than desirable interpretations of the rules really turned me off of it.)
Agree on the modding that it needs more work. I check once a week and the best mods are ones that just add existing content in the game and it’s clearly not as easy as Skyrim modfing
Watching the video yesterday one subject they talked about was dyeing clothing and how maybe that could be implemented. There’s so many Bg3 mods for this so hard is this? Maybe they could grab some modders and give them say free access etc if cash strapped and time strapped

Back to solasta 2. They did another show and tell today and answered questions. You can tell they want to do more but can’t. Should be a fun game and it will be sad when people compare to Bg3 (so many on the feed thinking this will be better )
Funny thing is, I don't want it to be BG 3.5. I want it to be it's own thing and if that means no romance just adventure? Huzzah! Make interesting characters but leave the drama for the threats they face? That's just as much D&D.

They are still a very small development team working on a limited budget. I don't care if I can dye my cloak, I care if I have fun and engaging environments and encounters. I wish them luck because I enjoyed the first game for what it was, not because I wanted another BG 3.
