So I found out today that my morning job has a webcam. Not such an unusual occurance in this technological world, except that my boss set up this webcam in the shop. Not so that he could watch us, but so that he could set up a live stream on the internet. Now anyone can watch me at work in the morning.
So what is the linK? I like watching people work! :p

Over here there are laws on this kind of matter. Generally you can put cameras in public places inside the firm - like the retail area or whatnot in a shop. An employee resting area or any other space thats not considered public (like my office room) is off limits to camera.

Seems like there is enough information there to google this thing. I *will* find it. It's just a matter of time. :)

....

So I worked with it today and I was completely paranoid. I kept looking at the thing every 10 seconds so that I could be sure it didn't look like I was doing anything compromising.

Eugh.

So it only updates every 10 seconds. But once they get the new computer, they're putting it on continuous stream. Then I think I'll be hiding in the unseen corners for as much of the work day as I can get away with.

Here's the thing.

The guys at work aren't bothered by it. But the girls I work with (all 2 of them...) all think that it's pretty wierd. I don't think my bosses understand the potential creep factor this offers.

So it aint' hidden?

Find a realistic plastic fly & glue that sucker over the camera.

Does your boss have a web-cam? Shouldn't you get to see all the 'work' he does during the day?

(As somebody who fixes computer problems, I know the higher up the chain, the more likely downloaded porn is likely to be the source of the problem).

You don't work at a strip club do you? I mean, this could be a way to generate extra revenue. Join our site! Watch the nerds to nerdy things!

I'm curious in a nonstalky way.

I think either she doesn;t know the link or wishes not to share. I understand, I wouldn't want people watching me work.
