D&D 4E Something for the grognards to like about 4E!

There is one thing grognards should like about 4e: the return of alphanumeric codes for adventure modules! It doesn't make a lick of practical difference, but it beings a certain amount of awesome for oldtimers I think. Personally, I'm psyched about it.

Thoughts?
As long as I can understand the code, not in terms of campaign series.

Then again, I prefer adventures to be used at ANY and ALL levels, from 1 to 30, with any number of PCs, from 1 to 30.

I could care less. There are too many mechanical and design philosophy issues with 4e that take precedence for me to care about something as insignificant as alphanumeric coding of modules.

There isn't very much to talk about on those fronts, so why not talk about this?

Incidentally, this kind of post is usually what is meant when people talk about "threadcrapping".

It is kind of odd. It looks like they're planning for the heroic tier to be three modules "wide." Then you're in the paragon tier. So, maybe the first 3 "sets" of H1-3, P1-3, and E1-3 will be related. After that, they could get a little more ambitious and do more hardcore themed adventure paths, like Al-Quadim (ALQ1-9) or Hommlet to the Temple (TEE1-9). Or, y'know, start a quest that goes through G-series, D-series, and ends with killing Lolth (LOL1-9).

I would approve of this.

I never stopped using alphanumeric codes for the scenarios I've written. It's a habit I picked up in AD&D. I usually code them based on which storyline will be the alpha story in that particular scenario. It makes it easy to keep my story threads straight.

There are lots of grognardly things to like about 4e over 3e. It's just 4e is using spooky movement.

For example:
if AD&D is here......................and 3e is here
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< 4e is is moving this way>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
