By the way, are you allowed to say which parts you worked on? I'm curious.Well, had I written the Tiamat entry, I'd probably have gone for a higher level myself, yeah. I don't think it's wrong to happen at paragon, necessarily--I can see some uses for it--but epic would make more sense to me.
But hey, not my section, and I wasn't asked.![]()
Standard 4E answer: Its a game, don't think about it.
The problem is that this answer only works for some aspects (pun intended) of the game, and this is not one of them.
I guess I should have written: doesn't work for me. I prefer there to be some relative measure between a diety's strength and the strength of it's aspects. I find that most logical. I would also expect that the first released version of a monster to be the "baseline". Variations can and do exist, but the first one is the "normal" one.Why not?
I am not sure I quite follow you here.Level don't really exist, and since only the PC's are heroes, no one knows how powerful this thing is except that no one can kill it.
I know you were shooting for sarcasm, but it still doesn't work for me.Maybe she creates more of them. Maybe her god-powers do other things. Maybe her aspects don't eat enough human flesh, or maybe five heads takes up five times as much resources.
My guess would be zero, as the characters would most likely dieI kind of wonder what a fight against five aspects of Tiamat would clock in at, XP/level-wise....![]()
Good suggestion, but as mentioned above, it doesn't work for me.Tiamat has more varied followers so she generally needs to spread her energy out a little more thinly that demons who only show up in one place at a given time to intimidate the infidels.
Another good suggestion, just doesn't fit my view of gods and aspects. In 3e, aspects come in varying strengths, each deity might have different versions of their aspects, and some aspects were not consciously created.
Why not?

Its quantum, monsters, aspects and deities don't have stats till they are measured. Usualy by the heroes attacking them.
Phaezen
Weird. I could swear that I had books full of stats, right here, in front of me. You guys do not have those? Do they not exist when you make the encounters?
