I decided to post npcs from my Greyhawk game here (Starting out in that greatest of adventures "Night Below"). This first group was never intended as a combat encounter, but, one of my players thinks that anything can be solved with his sword. The offending PC in question was a samurai from Complete Warrior. Anyway, here they are. The worg riders were a real pain in the butt for the party. The samurai suffered an ignoble death, as he was the target of the riders ire. This was a tough encounter for second level PC's. We only saw one death however, as the offending samurai died so did the hate of the goblins. The goblins of course, were riding their worgs.

Possessions: Morningstar, wood-carved amulet of elder eye, spell-component bags, two leather scroll cases, (2) spell scroll – cause fear, sleep.
Physical Description: Shogga is a tall (5’ 9”) lean woman. Her skin has an odd slate grey hue with thick shoulder length chalk white hair. Her face is oval shaped with prominent cheekbones. Her eyes are a deep blue. Her features are more human than orc. By human standards, she has quite an exotic, unknown look about her. She wears tan leather breeches with a grey woolen shirt belted at the waist with a broad black girdle. Shogga hasn’t had time to summon a familiar yet. Shogga is the leader of this small group.
Spells Prepared (3, 2; base DC = 11 + spell level): 0 – ghost sound, guidance, touch of fatigue; 1st – command, cure light wounds.

Physical Description: Karn is the leader of the bodyguards. He is missing most of his nose, having been bitten off in a fight long ago. His breath smells horrid (comes from eating slugs with a goblin gut chaser – goblin gut is a foul alcohol brewed from ‘mushrooms’ fertilized with guano). Lox is the biggest of the three, more bulk, and mean. He goes out of his way to hurt innocents. Shorra is the lone female of the bodyguards. Shorter than the males but tough (having survived as a female warrior is no mean task), she has a deeper purple tinge to her complexion than normal. She never forgives a wrong and seeks any opportunity to repay in kind.

Here's the next bloke. Sever will be met briefly when the pc's enter the orc caverns. Hopefully, he'll live to become a thorn in the side of the pc's for many seasons.

Sever was born 'Touched by Maglubiyet'. His mother was made concubine of the chieftain, his father was killed by said chieftain. The warren of caves that the goblin tribe (The Cloven Skull Tribe) lived in had a connecting chamber into the night below. Sever has an early childhood memory of being taken to the chamber and being given to a Duergar warrior as a 'Burkol gyet' or boot boy.

The duergar first taught Sever the ways of a hunter in the dark. Then came the training of the goblin's hate and anger into a bladed manifestation.

Sever has a particular hatred for the deep gnomes, as the duergar fought them many times for control of the precious minerals of the underdark. After several years of training Sever returned to his tribe, a proven hunter in the dark.

Sever is completely anti-social, and will only use fellow goblins when necessary - such as cannon fodder. He prefers hit and run tactics or picking off lone sentries or laggards.
