Soneillon. Part 1 (Updated 6/15)

Talix,
I think you might have to give up "The Quiet One" as a tagline. Today you updated just about every thread that I'm subscribed to. :D

It may be that she just wasn't prepared for the feelings she'd face after the commitment she made. As she said, she's half-Auran and that may give her a buffer against emotions but she's also half-human, a race whose emotions are very strong. Just because she's either repressed or failed to explore the feelings that come with that heritage doesn't mean they aren't there.

The other side of that is the part of the learned response. Living among Aurans--if I'm understanding the way Sep does their society correctly--would push her away from the celebacy she now seems to crave. If, in Sep's world, the nurture outwaighs the nature then I could only guess that she's seen the romantic relationships other humans have and, somewhere deep inside, wants that for herself.

I can't imagine why Ortwin would have trouble seeing any of that. After all, it really is obvious. ;)

Ortwin doesn't have the best sense motive check in the world though if I recall ;)

Yes, the best liar in the world can't tell when someone else is doing the same. He might want to work on that. . .

Lela---

I think that would require too much self-reflection, which would spoil Ortwin's genuinely selfish and self-centered personality :D

Or he could just study Iua. Something he already does regularly--albet in a slightly differeent way. ;)

Okay I have returned from reading all of the old ones, or at least as far back as Lady Despina's Virtue. And yep, my own story hour had to go on hiatus a bit so I could suck the marrow from it.

I hate to be yet another "Wow, you're great" post, but this is fantastic stuff. Very inspiring. As a player of a paladin in another game, Eadric is a wonderful inspiration. Mostin is certainly going to inspire not only wizards in my games, but a re-read of Jack Vance. I don't have the Dying Earth series, but the Lyonesse series.

Kudos all round to GM and players for this one!

You can have my sig when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers! :D

Honestly, though, I don't even have 100 posts yet - the only thing I do is read story hours, and then post something so I'll have a bookmark to return to. ;)

Heck, I still call myself the Quiet One in another forum where I have over 3000+ posts. :D (www.crfh.net) It's more of a philosophy than a lifestyle.

Then it may or may not be a good idea to mention the "Subscribe to this Thread" link at the bottom of the page. ;)

I wish that "Subscribe to this thread" had an option that would notify you only when the thread's originator posted a message. I get so excited when I see an e-mail in my inbox telling me Wyre has been updated... then I find out it is just someone ELSE responding.

And here I am cluttering up this thread with a useless response. Oh, the irony. ;)
