This is my first time using the ENworld Community forums. Thank you for your patience.
Looking at the Sorcerer's Font of Magic and Flexible Casting features, it seems that the Additional spell slots created by spending Sorcery Points remain until they are used.
Flexible Casting
You can use your sorcery points to gain addi tional spell slots, or sacrifice spell slots to gain additional sorcery points.
Conversion.
You can transform unexpended sorcery points into one spell slot, or vice versa, as a bonus action. The Creating Spell Slots table shows the cost of creating a spell slot of a given level, or the value of sacrificing a spell slot for sorcery points. You cannot convert spells of 6th-level or higher.
In O5E, it said “Any spell slot you create with this feature vanishes when you finish a long rest.” In A5E, that phrase is missing.
So it seems like Sorcerers in A5E can create additional spell slots for every day that they don't use all of their spell slots and keep stacking them.
Is there a rule I'm missing?
For example, a separate rule that says that taking a long rest resets all of these spell slots as well.
(The Sorcerer's Spellcasting feature says “You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.”, so it doesn't seem to remove the Additional slots.)
If it is indeed stacking, then the Sorcerer would have an infinite number of spell slots during travels.
Of course, I don't think my table would allow that.
But I'm wondering if this is an error in the A5E rulebook itself. Not how I would apply it at my table.
I know that the Sorlock's infinite Short Rest in O5E was removed in A5E, so if that's true as I read the rules, it would make it simpler for a single Sorcerer class to have infinite spell slots in A5E.
I look forward to response, thank you.
