Sorcerer + Mage of the Arcane Order?

Is it possible for a sorcerer to qualify for this prestige class? The reason I ask is that the prereqs say you have to be able to prepare spells, yet the description explicitly mentions sorcerers.

Also, if a sorcerer can qualify, how does the spell pool work for him? Surely he can't just cast any spell from the Wiz/Sor spell list spontaneously... Am I missing something here?

Take the feat "arcane preparation" from Tome & Blood.

The sorcerer must "prepare" one or more of his spell slots as an "open slot", which he cannot use to spontaneously cast spells from his regular repertoire from. He may call spells into these open slots as normal for a MotAO.
