Sorcerer Spell Lists

First Post
I've been working on my own custon setting using the Pathfinder rules. As I'm deployed right now and won't be able to run it until I get home, I figured I would toss this idea up here for some positive/negative feedback from the community that might have a little more Pathfinder experience than I do (which is none lol). I'm thinking of changing the spell list available to Sorcerers based on what Bloodline they choose. It goes as follows.

Wizard Spell List Bloodlines
Aberrant
Arcane
Draconic
Infernal

Cleric Spell List Bloodlines
Abyssal
Celestial
Destined
Undead

Druid Spell List Bloodlines
Elemental
Fey

Any thoughts or suggestions?

so, to make sure I under stand this right, if a sorcerer were to choose the infernal blood line, they would use the wizard spell lists, if abyssal, then cleric and if elemental: Druid. Do I understand this right?

If so, then i would have to say that the sorcerer would be stepping on the oraical's toes with the cleric spell lists and casting style. Personally I see nothing wrong with the way the scorcerer is with casting as per the design that it is now.

edit: Wow, where did all those typos come from? Sorry all.

Yes, you do understand this right. However, I'm not using the APG. I probably should ahve clarified, but I'm only using the Core Rulebook, Bestiary and Game Master Guide for now. As I'm fairly new to the system, I don't want to have a whole bunch of books available that I won't have the time to go through.

So to emulate the oracel, you are wanting to slightly alter the sorcerer (due to not using the APG), Is this correct? If so, I will put some thought in what you have posted above.

edit: one thought comes to mind is why is abysmal clerical and infernal wizard? how did that decision come about, or to put it better: by what criteria is the separation determined?

Yeah, I don't even know what the Oracle is, so I'm not sure if I'm trying to emulate it or not. I'm just trying to change the flavor of the Sorcerer slightly.

As for which Bloodlines got which, I just went with whatever. The criteria I separated it by was that I was trying to come up with an even amount of Wizard and Cleric. I might still change it even further to give Druid to one other one. But for now, I just wanted Cleric and Wizard to be the same amount.

One problem with this idea is that the sor/wiz spell list is superior to the cleric and druid spell lists. That is why those classes get better BAB, casting in armor, channel energy, wild shape, and so many other abilities, and why wizards and sorcerers get the lowest HD and BAB in the game, can't cast in armor without risk of spell failure, and so on. By giving some sorcerers the cleric or druid spell lists, you are weakening those characters without any compensation.

That's the kind of feedback I was looking for. I hadn't ever thought about that. Fair enough then. Make sense not to do it. Awesome. Thanks.
