And, if one is looking for justifications, let us remember that being cloistered with books is not the only way to learn. The fact that he's not cloistered with books doesn't mean the sorcerer isn't busy learning and practicing - having it come "naturally" doesn't necessarily mean it comes easily. Natural prodigies still have to practice.
