I read several times (here and on the oher board) that the workers aren't slaves and that boycotting the product can only make them jobless thus starving. But in the Western world there are laws that are meant to protect people from abuse. And with such laws we have freedom of choice (of a good job over a bad one). But some corporation seek third world place to not abide by the law, and buying from them we support this situation. In being informed and acting (one way or another), we can influence toward fair treatment of third world workers and protect our own system. In any case I felt I had to say so, hence the thread. Whatever, I only buy PDFs from third party publishers from now on.

I am guilty of two things:

1) I am guilty of opening a political thread on a messageboard that expressely forbids it. If I am banished (or at least the thread is closed), it will be merited, just let me apologize in advance.

Clearly you know better, and I can't see this as anything other than outrageously flouting the rules, Turanil. I can understand your strong feelings in this matter but you KNOW this isn't the place to discuss it (Try circvs maximvs).

I'm afraid I'm going to close the thread and give you a two day ban. See you in two days.
