The Eros Knight

The Eros Knight is a dedicated warrior, blessed by the god(dess) of love. These champions of good, much like paladins and priests, oppose evil, especially tyranny and abuse, whenever they can. All but a few Eros Knights are hopeless romantics, and most have a soft spot for star-crossed lovers, foolish youngsters and newlyweds. Though their continuing mission is to defend and spread all sorts of love (i.e., family bonds, patriotism), romance is most important to them. Hence, most governments and communities recognise their authority and vestments to perform wedding ceremonies. Eros Knights take a very dim view on those who would dare break these sacred vows. While they are aptly trained in the martial arts, Eros Knights prefer to resolve conflicts peacefully, if possible. 'Make Love, Not War' is a well know creed of the Eros Knights.
The stereotypical Eros Knight is a knight in Shining Armor, a noble fighter or paladin, probably mounted. Clerics and rangers who become Eros Knights usually fall into this category as well. A much smaller, more free-spirited group of members take a swashbuckling approach to things; no shields, light armor, quick weapons and even quicker wit. Like the musketeers of classic literature, these Eros Knights are romantic rogues (or bards) and expert fencers. Sorcerers and wizards who become Eros Knights favour this 'branch' if the organisation, but not all of these take up this prestige class. Barbarians or monks with enough romance in their hearts to join the Eros Knights are rare, and those who stay members for long are even rarer.
Whether wearing rose- or heart-decorated steel or dancing around with a rapier, every single Eros Knight delights in telling and hearing tales, poems and songs about love. From the joys and sorrows of a timeless epic to a child's love for it's pet, or a human teen's crush on a centuries-old elven tutor, the Eros Knights listen and pass it all on with unequalled care and interest.

Although an ancient organisation in itself, the Order of Love came forth from an even older group of warriors; the military branch of the elven deity of love who was seduced by Eros, the human god of love.

Code of Love, Care and Honor: Eros Knights must be of good alignment and lose all special class abilities (quite likely permanently) if they willingly commit an act of evil. Additionally, they must adhere to any and all chivalric code of the lands they travel in or through. These various codes usually require that the Eros Knight doesn't lie or cheat, helps those who need it, punish those that harm or threaten innocents, but the Eros Knight would do so even when not expected to by law. Furthermore, marriage vows and proclamations of love are sacred to the Eros Knights. They are feared and renowned for hunting down adulterers, charlatans, heartbreakers and blackmailers. They must atone whenever they neglect an opportunity to squeeze reparations out of one of these despised scoundrels.

Paladins who serve a god(dess) of love may multiclass freely as Eros Knights.

was this decided against in the final cut, or not spelled out?

There is no way that charm person should be on the spell list of someone dedicated to love. If there was a human equivelent of animal friendship, that would be one thing, but the charm spells could be seen as a form of emotional rape. Right out for the tone you are trying to set.

There's a spell from the Domains of the Forge setting by Bastion press which you might consider adding - "oathbind" which is cast on willing participants in a written contract, and notifies all members if any member breaks the contract. would make a decent marriage spell.
