Soulmelds and SR

I have a PC in my XE Crimson Codex game who plays a soulmelding PC. He uses lightning gauntlets on a creature with SR.

Does the SR interfere?


What soulmeld ability won't have SR affect it? We couldn't find a clear explanation in the rules.

Spell resistance is the extraordinary ability to avoid being affected by spells. (Some spells also grant spell resistance.) ...

...A creature’s spell resistance never interferes with its own spells, items, or abilities...

Artoomis, you have to check the Incarnum book for rules specific to it. The answer is on page 52, in the Incarnum and Spells section.

Spell resistance is effective against any soulmeld used to affect a creature other than the meldshaper. A meldshaper's spell resistance (if any) is automatically overcome by his own soulmelds.

So the answer is yes, lightning guantlets and any other soulmeld used on another creature has to roll versus spell resistance.
