This will re-write your planetary generation tables for ya... I love it. In a nutshell, this paper suggests that one-third of Hot Jupiter solar systems can form terrestrial, watery worlds in the "Goldilocks" or habitable zone of a sunlike star. All those HJ-type systems on page 33 are now ripe for the picking for you hard-scifi types. I'm using it in my OGL-Trek games. If the link dies, just request a copy. I've saved it. (Heck... hmm, this made me ponder recreating the blue planet rpg in d20

nah, why bother, it already have a much more elegant mechanic
