Sources for the gods of the Giants

Jason Zavoda, a long-time Greyhawk fan and contributor to the Greytalk email list, wrote a long series of fictions based on G1-3. They're archived on the web at http://hp3000.empireclassic.com/fiction/zavoda/nosnras_saga.html (if you skip up a level you'll find other pieces that he wrote as well).

Jason's giants are very animistic, lead by shamans. In addition to the story being a fun read, it's chock-full of good giantish cultural lore you can purloin for your own games.

well that would come straight out of the 1edADnD DMG (revised 1979) also. giants could be shamans. ;)

grodog, that sure is long. but I might just read it when I get the chance. :)

Anyone else know of any other sources for these giant gods?

Nope, beyond Monster Mythology, and maybe something campaign specific like Giantcraft, that's all I can think off.

Really, most of the monster gods besides the various demihuman and orc deities don't have much description beyond Monster Mythology. There are a few scattered exceptions, but most of the material that can be found is in MM.

Most of these giant gods were covered in the Twilight Giants Trilogy published by TSR in 1994-1995.
The Ogre's Pact, The Giant Among Us, the Titan of Twilight.

Our first set of gods that we are working on is the giantish gods. For now that includes Annam, Diancastra, Grolantor, Hiatea, Ilallanis, Karontor, Memnor, Stronmaus, and Skoraeus Stonebones.

are those novels? if only i had the time to go scouring through novels for info...

and i'm thinking there is likely to be some more info in planescape, probably the boxed sets. i will have to see what i can find...

yes. (The Ogre's Pact, The Giant Among Us, the Titan of Twilight) are novels set in the Forgotten Realms written by Troy Denning

Well, maybe novels might have some background info, but since I don't read them, I wouldn't be able to say.

As for Planescape, most of the information you're going to get is descrptions of the gods' planar realms, and I don't really recall any major descriptions of giantish realms in the products. For the most part, you might not find must more than the name of the god's realm, and what plane/layer the realm is on. IIRC, there's a big poster map on the Planes of Conflict box that has all the godly realms listed on the reverse, also the god lists at the end of On Hallowed Ground also gives the name and location of the realms.
