Are you tired of D&D campaigns that seem to involve cardboard cutouts of the people and places rather than a living, breathing, world? "Kill the monster, grab it's treasure" campaigns leaving you wanting for something with more substance and interactivity? How about a Forgotten Realms where different cultures are more than a brief description in a book? Where paying a Silverymoon innkeep with the Zhent coinage you took off of your last foe's rapidly cooling bodies will get you his size 12's instead of a room for the night? Where you can tell whether someone is a shrewd merchant born and bred in Calimport or his crude country cousin just in from the desert, by the dialect he speaks?
I'm currently looking to find a group of mature players for a custom Forgotten Realms Campaign. I'm located in May's Landing - near Atlantic City and Ocean City. I am planning on running the game on Sundays - late morning to early afternoon. I am planning on running the game at my FLGS (Jester's Playhouse).
Some of the customization that I use:
I've incorporated Tom Costa's Speaking in Tongues article for languages. I've also incorporated his document on regional races and feats (most of which made it into Races of Faerun, some of which did not).
I've implemented a much-expanded monetary system (where the coinage means more than just gold, silver, and copper.)
Any race or class from any 3.5 or Forgotten Realms book is available for play, as long as the pre-reqs are met and a plausible reason for being able to take it is available.
Any splat book information from 3.0 is *also* available unless or until superceded by newer information such as Complete Warrior.
If interested, feel free to either reply here or email me - 3catcircus at comcast dot net.
