Sovereign Press to produce Dragonlance

Perhaps, but not so popular a setting. :) DL is the only setting that has continued putting out novels, besides FR. If someone does Birthright, they'll have my three favorite settings done, Dark Sun, Dragonlance, and Birthright. :)

All thats left is Planescape, Birthright and Spelljammer. Although both were good neither were better than Dragonlance in the early days.

I agree. However, Sovereign Press is so uniquely suited to do Dragonlance, that it makes perfect sense. If only there was a publishing company of the folks who wrote Planescape, for instance, that could convert that one. Or Birthright, or whatever other setting you'd rather see.

Which settings are you thinking of? Still, with the fact that WotC is licensing out Dark Sun & Dragonlance, if someone shows enough interest in the campaigns you are lamenting, then there seems to be a reasonable chance that they will get ressurrected.

Don't give up hope. We all have our faves, and the beauty of d20 and the OGL will be this: If WotC is smart, they can license out the old, dead settings to 3rd party publishers to convert and renew into 3E. The other publishers can set lower expectations than a "corporate giant" for sales goals and still make a profit.

It's a win-win situation if this happens (if their done right and care taken with them). WotC wins by PHB, DMG, etc sales, the 3rd party publishers make money, fan get their fav setting converted into 3E.

Not only is this fantastic news, but I am immensely pleased to hear that the actual people who made the world what it is are the ones who run the gaming company that is publishing the material.

In all my years of gaming, I've never actually played in the dragonlance setting but I have enjoyed most of the books. I think I'll pick up the sourcebook regardless of whether I decide to play or not.

Good news good news.

Good to have DL back together with Ravenloft and Dark Sun - it's good for the fans. I doubt I'll pick it up myself, though (even though I Dm'ed DL for many years).
My personal dream:

- Sean K. Reynolds joins Malhavoc Press
- WotC licenses Planescape to Malhavoc Press (though, I'd like Pramas to be involved in this one as well).

I would like Planescape to be brought back in a heavily revised edition, though, that really takes advantage of d20 and the new supplements regarding the Planes and planar creatures.

I would like to echo the many positive comments made for this news. I've been heavy of heart ever since seeing the 3e draconian stats in the latest of those draconian novels (Doom Brigade I believe). I figured that this would be the only 3e action DL would get. It's great news and I will purchase whatever Sov Stone puts out for the setting that holds so much nostaligia for me.
