Sovereign Stone's Magic System..balanced?

I suppose in the end, the one break down in the system is that a character can take one level and get a few good spells that can be used outside of combat(such as the spell that allow flight, which I cannot think of the name).

I think if I do use this system(which is a good possibility) I'll try and make sure that no one just takes a single level in it without a very good reason.

The channelling like system of SS along with the cooperative spellcasting could allow for a great ritual spell system. Just have some really good spells have a casting threshold in the several hundreds or even a thousand. With the stipulation that it takes a certain number of casters...there ya go.

One other thing I was thinking of with the magic system was to split up the elements and assign different stats to them. Right now INT is used for all the elements. It is minor since it only affects the amount of CT you have as intimate knowledge and quick reference. But I would make Fire linked to Cha, Earth to Wis and leave Air and Water with INT.
