Which one? Steve Gorak or me? I feel like it is easier to get high scores in this edition, with a 18, 18, 12, 10, 10, 10 (but perhaps I got something wrong)
Completed character sheets aren't necessary at this point, though I certainly won't begrudge anyone submitting one if they wish. I'm more interested in backstories right now--I like characters I can get into, and it gives me a chance to check out everyone's writing style.
Since martial striker's wide open, I submit Aliyas One-Arrow, an elf ranger.
I really don't know anything about the background for this campaign, but my really basic idea revolves around Aliyas seeking the Moonbow, a relic of Sehanine that was originally stolen from its sacred resting place...perhaps even taken from the dead hands of the hero who bore it.
She may be doing this because of divine inspiration, or because she was the Sole Survivor of the community that guarded it and thus it falls to her, or possibly she is the daughter of its guardian and seeks it to reclaim the honor of her family and to avenge his death.
But I'm fairly flexible. This is a pretty skeletal backstory here.
The five players I have chosen for this game are as follows:
--Dwarven Fighter; garyh
--Peregrine Thistledown, halfling paladin; The Digger
--Illian Starsinger, Elven Cleric; renau1g
--Half-elf Warlock/Wizard; Steve Gorak
--Aliyas One-Arrow, Elven Ranger; Shayuri
Unfortunately I couldn't pick everyone, but this game should last for a while (I hope!), and I'd imagine there will be people coming and going quite regularly for one reason or another. If those who weren't selected would like to hang around and follow along, I'd be happy to have you as alternates in case someone can't continue.
To the chosen five: please start on your character sheets and post them here. As a group, I'd like for everyone to look over everyone else's sheets. Hopefully between the six of us (and whatever onlookers we have) we'll be able to decipher the rules enough to get some proper characters out. After everything's nice and tidy I'll put up an RG thread to put the finalized characters in.

[sblock=Background/appearance]
Elias never knew his human father. His Elven mother was a wizard, far too focused in her studies to spend much time with him. He spent much of his days as a child reading his mother's old tomes of arcane lore . To his mother's chagrin, he didn't have the interest nor the drive to become an accomplished wizard. He was however quite fascinated by astrology, planar powers and related lore, and became adept at harnesing magical power from this rather unusual source.
Upon reaching adulthood, Elias was "invited" by the village elders to explore the world, and learn more about how to harness his planar powers. The fact that he had learned to channel rather potent magics from misunderstood sources had unsettled some of the more simple minded villagers. Although his powers proved useful in the most recent goblin attacks, Elias saw that it would be better for him and the tranquility of his community to spend some time outside.
Elias travels lightly with his backpack, staff and grey cloak. He could easily pass for a simple traveller, and he doesn't readily showw off the nature of his powers.
