I've touched on this before, but I wanted to specifically let people know about this program well in advance of Gen Con, to give people a chance to plan and/or submit events.
Last year was the first year Gen Con ran a "SPA" program; desgined to be a track primarily to appeal to spouses who are strictly gamers, it was actually a great success among gamers and nongamers alike. Last year under this program, Gen Con ran a diverse variety of events, to include yoga, belly dancing classes, knitting and crochet classes, jewelry and cooking classes, karate classes, and a winery tour.
This year, Gen Con's hoping to make the SPA program even larger and better; with mroe events geared towards nongamers, as well as gamers. I'm helping Gen Con organize their SPA events this year; if you're interested in running a SPA event at Gen Con, or have any questions about it; please don't hesitate to contact me at marimacc@gmail.com. And please let you spouses/SO's know about the program.
