Space-Fantasy games...

For while I've been wanting to try a space based rpg...anywhile lately I've been thinking Space-fantasy might be fun, although probably something that isn't Star Wars.

Looking over the d20/OGL options, there seems to be 2...Fading Suns and Dragonstar. So, I'm wondering which would be better to get...I'm unsure about DS, mainly because it uses fantasy races, where I'd probably rather use aliens than Elves, Dwarves and so on.

Which game has gotten more support, with things like premade adventures?

While I don't know about Fade Sun, I do run Dragonstar.

It has four basic books out at this point. They are the basic reference book that has the basic rule additions, races and equipment; the world book the is background, and some addtional magical items like spellware, and some points on running a Dragonstar campain; an equipment book; and a race book that has all new races that can be used as aliens instead of the standard fantacy races with just a little bit of work.

Some major points. Magic is intergal to the setting so there is no conflict between tech and magic. To paraphase the book: Tech allows people to use the laws of physics, ect while magic allows you to break them.

The setting is also set up so you can use any D&D world out there with very little work. With some work you can use any published d20 setting including stuff from spycraft and d20 modern.

Just rember that Dragonstar has a very strong fanatcy flavor that makes starwars look traditiional. It includes all of the traditional class and uses magic for startravel.

Fading Suns is space fantasy, but it's Earth in the far future. It's sorta like Dune in terms of style. Or a space version of the dark ages.

FS has a number of books - there were two previous versions with lots of books for that, and they are slowly reprinting them with d20 sections in back.
