Everyone who can (now) see the Spanish Inquisition must make a will save or be surprised (despite the fact that they are in the middle of combat). The Inquisitors are no longer hidden, though.

But, the Inquisition always uses up the surprise period trying to figure out what weapon(s) they are using.

I'd say it really matters not whether the Inquisition gain surprise, as due to the scene having become too silly a gigantic foot is going to come down from the sky and squash the whole combat* on initiative 15 next round.

* - except for those few it doesn't squash, however, who will then sneak away to America and form a bluegrass band.

Wouldn't the Spanish Inquisition be chiefly interested in acquiring and subsequently using the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch? (Preferably on somebody unrighteous, of course.) Rogue with Expertise: Stealth and Expertise: Pick Pockets is the key person, plus some noisy distractors.

There is nothing to say that Brother Maynard is involved with this confrontation. Even if he is present he seems like the type that would be terrified of the comfy chair, with only a cup of coffee until lunchtime, at 11.
