*Six* years? Yeah, right...I betcha we'll see 4th edition by summer of 2006.

Couldn't we hold on until 2014? I have huge amount of stories to tell, and I just went through the hassle of upgrading from 3.0 to 3.5. I don't need to be told that my current model is outdated by the time I get to home from the store. Furthermore my current 'ware has a guarantee to last about a decade before requiring heavy duty updating and rebooting. I demand a full refund if my 'ware becomes obsolete before 2014!

??? How did he make your day? By saying he's heard rants and that was one of them? Is that all it takes to make your day?
I guess Dark Jezter is just too droll for you. Trust me. His post was hilarious.

Call it "marketing hype" and let it go at that. I've seen worse on the back of just about every computer game ever sold. "Mind-blowing graphics" indeed.

"VAT IZ DIS HUM-AH YOU ARE SPEAKING ABOUT?"

As for the initial rant.. you're scraping the bottom of the barrel for something to complain about. Seriously, what difference does it make to anything what language a company uses to promote its product? I think your sensibilities are too easily offended.

Strange, I didn't notice the use of "upgrading" for a conversion to the latest edition. The word I see used is "updating".

I agree. I was never happy with the name 3.5. What's wrong with 3rd Edition: Revised? But they didn't consult me. Darn.
I'm easy. I wouldn't like it any more or less if it was called "3rd Edition: The Pomegranate Version."

Oh, I love 3.5. I'd enjoy The Pomegranate Version just as much as I'd enjoy Revised. But yeah, that kind of computer terminology is annoying to me. Not annoying enough to affect my sales. Not enough for me to seriously go around and say "The name 3.5 sucks!" But enough to go, "yeah, I agree."
