Speak Language

Why isn't speak language a part of any class' skill list? Do you still have to spend 2 points per language earned or is it handled in some sort of errata?

It's a bardic class skill. Everyone else, 2 points per language.

Yep - and probably one or two other classes I'm sure I'm forgetting.

I have house ruled it to be a class skill for rogues, wizards, clerics and paladins as well.

Rogues tend to pick up languages because it helps in stealing stuff, esp. in foreign places

Wizards tend to pick up languages because traditionally wizards are always talking to monsters and strange folk to pick up lore.

Clerics and paladins are always trying to spread the word of their gods - and when proselytizimng it helps to know the local language.

Rogues and Wizards don't get it but scouts do?

I could see loremasters and Wizards getting it, and I could even justify Rogues NOT getting it (since not all Rogues make their living with languages), but I thought Scouts were supposed to stay hidden,not be envoys.
