Speaker in dreams advice

First Post
Hi guys :)

The group I Dm is playing the WOTC series of adventures. They've played The Sunless Citadel and The Forje of Fury so far.

This Friday, we'll be starting the 3rd adventure: the speaker in dreams. From what I've heard, this is not one of the best adventures in the series. So, I was wondering if you guys have already played this one, and what would you suggest to make it a better adventure.

Reading the adventure, I thought that the links between the "evil groups" is very subtle, and the players might miss them. Im considering creating a few more bonds between them.

I intend to let the players explore the fair a lot. Therefore, I was thinking about ways to make the fair interesting for the players. So, I'd also ask for ways to entretain my players during the fair, with things like games, shows , funny enconuterns (and some problems to, :))

Thanks in advance

Be prepared for the players to go outside the bounds of the flowchart. If that happens - let it. My players had a key event happen to them and instead of following up on it, they decided to go to an inn for a good night's sleep. At that point I had to jump start everything with an event that wasn't written in the adventure itself.

Have a list of names ready to go for NPCs that are not included in the adventure. One of your players may want to chat up every apple seller, blacksmith and strumpet - they will need names.

I liked this adventure a lot btw and I don't think its inferior to the others in the adventure path series at all.

There is a web enhancement to Speaker in Dreams on the WOTC site that gives some more detail on the town and subplots.

Some of the SPOILER SPOILER connections to the bookstore should be through the scrolls. You might want to make it explcit, like adding some mark indicating the source of squim's scrolls.

Check out Natural 20/EN Publishing's Tournaments, Fairs, and Taverns and/or as some of the competion rules in Complete Warrior. I just ran a tournament/fair as my last session, using both sources, and everyone had a great time.

Yeah!
I bet my players will go out of the plot and start talking to everyone in town, especially because I enjoy that too, and estimulate it.

I'll use the scrolls idea too :) !!!

I heard about this book about fairs and stuff, but I live in Brazil, and here they only sell White wolf and Wizards books, everything else I get form amazon, but it's rather exepensive. So I guess I'll never be able to see this book ( I got the complete warrior tough)

Thanks for the replys, they're really helping
keep it coming please!!!
