I could see that, but I'd almost fancy just making it a Su ability and toning down the effects of prismatic spray. Something like "prismatic cone".
1d8 Color of Beam Effect
1 Red 10 points of fire damage (Reflex half)
2 Orange 15 points of acid damage (Reflex half)
3 Yellow 20 points of electricity damage (Reflex half)
4 Green Poison (1d6 points of Dex damage)
5 Blue Slowed for x rounds (Will negates)
6 Indigo Confused, as confusion spell (Will negates)
7 Violet Teleported to edge of unicorn's territory (Will negates)
8 Struck by two colors; roll again twice, ignoring any "8" results.
The pinto is more "colorful" than "fiery", though.
Str damage for green makes sense, and I'll agree to 1d4 rounds for both blue and indigo durations.
GrayLinnorm's pallette sounds good to me!
If we want to make them all unique, we should go back through the list! Cleon, what do you think about that?
3/day is good. Keep the blinding, but reduce to 3HD and 1d4 rounds maybe?
Sorry for being a bit slow in the response. I had to wait for my computer to sort itself out.
I have no objection to giving them all individual organisation names. Let's see, that means we'd need to rethink the organisations of:
Alicorn (currently Grace) - an enchantment?
Since charm is their only additional power
Brown Unicorn (currently Herd) - a herd?
I think we can keep the Roanicorns a herd, since their Habitat/Society says they have a "herd mentality?
Cunnequin (currently Grace) - a favour?
A cunniquin's turning ability may indicate they're favoured by the gods, and regular unicorns are a grace...
Faerie Unicorn (currently Grace) - a glamour?
As in "faerie glamour".
Gray Unicorn (currently Herd) - a neutrality?
Just to annoy Zapp Brannigan.
However, I don't like palette for the Pinto. Its association with colour seems rather indirect and it makes me think of other things (like loading palettes) which don't match very well.
So, I'd prefer something more light-related such as spectrum, hue, or rainbow.
Cleon said:That'd be alright, although I would rather make it "fewer Hit Dice than the unicorn" and 1d4 rounds.
I like most of 'em, but not "neutrality". Zapp be damned, we can come up with something better.
