Special Round is Over!!

Improved Initative

It is by far the most popular feat that everyone can use. The reason my players choose human is so that they can have a feat at first level because chosing this one is a given.

IMPROVED INITIATIVE [GENERAL]

+4 initiative is usefull to all archtypes, and is well worth a feat. Perhaps the most powerful universal feat available.

Having voted off that pesky power attack their is no way I can vote for its return.

I feel the same way about Combat Reflexes....

Heighten Spell for me...thats what I want to see back, though its bound to get outvoted by the power attack/imp init crowd. Spellcasters are just too much fun, and any way I can get to be certain their spells go off is a good thing.

I'm tempted to say Dodge, but since I'm hoping only one feat will be returned:

Improved Initiative [General]

because it's useful by all - melee types, ranged combat types, spellcasters, bards, negotiators, NPCs, Monsters.

(And because if we voted it off TWICE, then we can vote it off a THIRD time) ;)

Power Attack

I mean, come on, this is one of the two most fundamental melee combat feats in the game. How did it get voted off in the first place anyway?

Other choices I considered:
Combat Expertise (it being the second fundamental melee feat)
Improved Initative
Iron Will
Great Fortitude
Scribe Scroll

Power Attack. I'd love to vote for this, Improved Init and Improved Trip, but Power Attack is just the fundamental combat feat.

IMPROVED INITIATIVE

Because while I think Skill Focus is totally awesome, I really, *really* don't want PA to win. It's only useful to one type of character build -- melee smasher. Skill Focus can be used by everyone, but because the game is focused on combat, Improved Init is probably generally more useful, and it is useful for all character types. Going first (or at least while the other guy is still flat-footed) is great for everyone. Melee smashers can smash better (it's effectively a +x to hit, where x = monster's Dex bonus); mobility monkeys can move into a great position sooner, rogues can sneak attack, wizards can cast an encounter-ending spell before the encounter even gets stated, clerics can set up the buff....everyone can use Improved Init. Not as versatile as skill focus, but versatile enough to get my vote. OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

....odly, IMC, I've only seen one person take PA, and I've seen quite a few take Improved Init.

Come on.. a feat that allows a druid to rain down blasts of lightning, while moving a flaming sphere, all while being a little bitty bird sitting in a tree.. all innocuous..

Bring it back for all the Druids..

Let the other feats die an ignomious death..

I think the reason for knocking down Natural Spell was that it should just be a class feature, not a feat, since feats should be more general and broad, not like that only-one archetype power attack! ;)

All you people not voting Improved Initiative: what's the matter? You affraid to go fast?

:D
