D&D 5E Speculate on Pax

In the realm of wild speculation that's highly unlikely, I offer "Wizards will release all of D&D, not as Open Game Content, but as Creative Commons - Attribution/ShareAlike."

I don't believe they will, but it would be awesome.

I'm quite sure there was a madman posting here about this time last year with lengthy, elaborate sermons calling for exactly this.

I'm wagering all we get is the next AP/Storyline announcement. Probably some play for SCL and (maybe DLC) and confirming the movie stuff.

Anything else will be surprising...

I don't think they'll even do that - they didn't announce Rage of Demons until Princes of the Apocalypse had been out for a month, and have been focusing on a "one marketing campaign at a time". They'll talk about SCL, Rage of Demons, the SCAG, and the movie.

If there's another book coming out in December they'll probably announce it as well but I sincerely doubt there is such a non-AP boom in the pipeline besides the SCAG.

PAX announcements will almost certainly be unsurprising and underwhelming. WotC will probably only talk about what is already in the works. Best thing is that we'll most likely get to see some preview copies of Out of the Abyss. I'm already yawning a little.

If they do have any panels, my guess would be purely Rage of Demons hype (basic plot, photos and info about the demon lords, how it connects to the tabletop and video games)... and *maybe* a couple sneak previews of some of the character info from the SC Adventurer's Guide.

And then of course the Acquisitions Incorporated live game where they travel to the Underdark.

Is Patrick Rothfuss scheduled to join them again? Morgan Webb? The return of Wil Wheaton (I would bet against it)?

If none of them are available, I would recommend mearls play with them. I think AI would enjoy bossing around his intern.

There is the possibility that they might introduce an additional virtual tabletop platform partner. Mearls' recent interview indicated that their current deal is not exclusive.

Heh heh.

No idea actually. And in truth I can't say with 100% certainty that there will be an AI game, but from the way Perkins has been tweeting about it, it seems like it is. But there's also been no indication of who the fourth player is going to be.
