D&D 5E (2024) PAX WotC Dungeons and Dragons speculation thread.

At Wizards the Marketing team is using assets originally developed by the Studios.
Original art is extremely rare in their social or video.
I wasn't clear: I am not saying WotC is using GenAI in their marketing materials. What i am saying is that marketing departments appear to being hit with layoffs due to people being replaced by LLMs (for all kinds of work). I brought it up as a possible contributing factor as to why WotC's marketing department might be struggling.

There's also no evidence that they're struggling.
The "Say yes to adventure" campaign is quite good. "The Realms will know your name" is brilliant.

Have we had soft bound player books at all? It seems odd to guess there will be more.

Im considering the Eberon booking coming out as a player facing book. I know it has some monsters, but I think the new class/species/ and player option are the main draw. Even if you dont agree I still think they can dip into the splat box realm.

My understanding is its softbound. I expect it wont be the only softbound book they try. Maybe im miss remembering and its a slim hardbound?

Slim hardbound. The manufacturing defect was in the hard covers

Isn't that book harbound? The whole reason it was delayed was due to the hardcover bending?

The Eberron book is a hardback - that’s why it warped. They even posted pictures.

WotC literally posted a picture of the book's physical, hard cover.

It may be that they don’t have anything to market - they are clearly having problems with their manufacturing and distribution. They don’t want to be marketing for something when they don’t know when it will hit the shelves.
