How long until we get some sort of play testing rules? Given it hasnt been that long since the announcement, but I cant help think of sooooo many video games that were announced and then the waiting... the 2+ years waiting.

I understand this isnt a video game , but I could see wizards making this announcement just to gain interest in D&D again and taking several months before we even see some sort of rules.

I hope this isnt the case, but only time will tell i guess.

End of the month:

Playtests are available at DDXP in Jan 2011: "as a convention special this year, we will be offering show attendees a first-look at a draft of the new set of rules."

And then when we get a more concrete hands-on set of rules to play:

"...beginning sometime in the spring, we will begin open playtesting. Through our web site, we will release a growing set of rules, classes, monsters and other materials for your study and feedback. "

Cool , thanks. However the word "sometime" in spring makes me wary.
